Programs
At Columbia College, online learning delivers the same quality of instruction as in-person classes. All programs and classes offered online follow federal and state regulations, with safeguards in place to verify student identity through secure logins, proctoring, or other technologies. Students are responsible for protecting their login information, while faculty and staff monitor progress and uphold academic integrity.
Faculty remain engaged with students and respond within 24 hours. Communication is conducted primarily through email. To ensure student success, online courses are designed with clear objectives, updated learning materials, and reliable technology. Students learn how to use Canvas when they first log in to their new accounts. Online VESL students receive orientation on Zoom expectations and a Canvas booklet for guidance. Additional training and support are available for all students, with in-person troubleshooting offered at the office. Click here for Distance Learning policies.
