On behalf of the faculty and staff here at Columbia College, it is my pleasure to say welcome. You are invited to experience the challenging, yet rewarding educational opportunities we have to offer to current and prospective students.

Columbia College offers a variety of programs ranging from Vocational English as a Second Language (VESL), to certificate and associate degree programs. Through these diverse programs, we are committed and qualified to provide students with an education that equips them with the academic and intellectual skills necessary for their future, as well as the practical knowledge and expertise that are in high demand in today's global workforce.

At our institution, you will find devoted faculty and staff with exceptional instructional ability and extensive experience in their fields. We foster a "student first" environment, prioritized by the entire team to help students achieve their educational and career goals.

Since 1999

Our History

A journey of growth, innovation, and commitment to education in the Washington DC Metropolitan area.

1999

Established in Manassas, Virginia

Approved by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) to offer certificates in Computer Basic, Culinary Arts, Dental Laboratory Technology, and English as a Second Language (ESL), and Massage Therapy programs.

2004

Moved to Fairfax

Approved to offer associate degree programs in Business Administration, Computer Science, Cosmetology, Dental Laboratory Technology, Early Childhood Education, and Technical and Business English in 2005 by SCHEV.

2006

Extension Site Opened

Extension Site was opened in Silver Spring, Maryland.

2007

National Accreditation

Received its national accreditation from the Council on Occupational Education (COE) for the Certificate programs and Associate degree programs with the addition of Cosmetology and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).

2008

Centreville Extension

Extension Site was opened in Centreville, Virginia in April 2008.

2009

Federal Financial Aid

In May 2009, Columbia College was approved to participate in the Federal Student Financial Aid Programs (Title IV), enabling students to receive financial assistance to help finance their education.

2010

Veterans & International Students

the College was also approved by the State Department of Veterans Affairs to provide training for Veterans, giving members of the armed forces access to a quality education and resources to support their transition into the global workforce.

2016

Current Location

Moved to its current location in Vienna, Virginia.

Offers 6 Associate Degree Programs, 4 Certificate Programs, English Programs, including VESL, Online VESL, ESL.
